When customers are making purchase decisions about high value items, they seek greater validations that this product is going to fit into their lifestyle or environment. Car and furniture retailers have experimented with different applications which enable customers to the product from all angles in 3D and in some cases in a similar environment to where the product is going to used. Clothing retailers have experimented with various virtual and augmented realty applications to show how a product might look like on them. Retailers are also trying to differentiate from a crowded market by offering product that can be customised and create a unique product that they can visualise before purchasing.
