Poynt set to disrupt the way pay at POS is done

Startup ‘Poynt’ have launched an intelligent payment terminal which could change the way Point-of-Sale payments are currently done. The Poynt terminal, which is built on the Android operating system, has a dual-screen design with both high-res colour merchant-facing and customer-facing screens and embedded beacon technology plus support for all the emerging contactless payment types such as ApplePay.

Poynt terminals can be extended by developers to do things like loyalty and personalisation at the Point-of-Sale. Due to the recent data breaches in the US and the changes in payment standards, every one of the 16 million terminals in the country will change over to a different device in the next few years and with it, Poynt looks to disrupt the market.
