Retailers are always looking for ways to make the payment process faster. Convenience and speed of checkout is a number one reason on why people abandon baskets in-store. The mobile device is a very quick and convenient way for customers to pay for a product without having to either dig through their purse for the payment card. Related to this, the ability to self scan a product on the mobile phone and then pay on mobile without having to take the product to the Point-of-Sale (POS) further speeds up the experience.
