Charity shop Cancer Research UK has trialled a concept where customers were able to donate money to the charity via the shop window. If you walked past one of the 4 trial stores in the South East of England you could tap your contactless card against the window which would automatically donated £2.
Paul Clarke, Head of Strategic Marketing Communications at Cancer Research UK said: “We are excited to be premiering this world-first use of contactless giving technology in four of our shop windows. The contactless giving through four of our shop windows is a new and exciting way for people to donate to our work and help us bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.” The concept won the Innovation award at the Retail Week Tech Awards 2015.
