Accenture have developed a concept for the digital fitting room. When a customer walks into the fitting room, the products tagged with RFID trigger a screen in the fitting room to display relevant related products and show more information about the products.
The concept demonstrates how digital data which is being prepared for the core e-commerce channels can be used in the bricks & mortar stores. Now that RFID tags have a price that is a lot more attractive to retailers, these types of concepts which have been shown as concepts in many retail conferences in the past 5 years might start to become more normal.
