Pay by fingerprint with a Samsung phone and PayPal

The fingerprint scanner on the new Samsung Galaxy S5 phone will enable the customer to authorise payments on Paypal. Customers will be able to login and shop at any store that accepts PayPal on mobile and once PayPal is selected as the payment method, and it recognises a user with a registered print, all it takes is a digit swipe and you’ve paid.

PayPal are the first payments company to support Samsung’s mobile fingerprint authentication technology. The technology is similar to that on the iPhone 5. Ultimately these technologies could help lead the charge to end the use of usernames and passwords.
